This is my POVray rendering of the Burmis Tree located in the Crowsnest Pass during the winter months. The sky and landscape were created using basic commands in POVray such as heightfield for the mountains. Creating the tree was somewhat more difficult, as it required drastically altering a random tree macro to create a similarly looking tree to that of the Burmis Tree. At first I had to alter the gravity functions to force the tree to look old, and then had to remove all of the leaves from the tree. I then had to adjust the lean of the trunk, and tried to get a similar splitting of the tree near the top of the main tree trunk. In the end this is the picture that I was able to create.
