This is a picture of the teepee outside of Medicine Hat, done in povray.
It uses pretty simple objects, mostly cones. The red and blue borders were just made from simple polygons.
The only problem I was was the lighting. It was supposed to be a daytime picture, but I couldn't get the lighting to look right and show the poles as the proper colour. They were either grey, or too bright white.
