For the course project, each student is required to submit solutions to
problems from two one problem sets that have been used in past programming
contests. You may choose from two of the following sets to do, but you may
not "mix-and-match" problems from different sets.
The grading guidelines for this course are applicable for the project as well. Each problem is worth the same amount of marks. Part marks are, of course, possible.
Assuming that you do each of the submitted problems perfectly, the general guideline is:
| Number Solved | Expected Grade Range |
|---|---|
| A-, A, A+ | |
| B-, B, B+ | |
| C-, C, C+ | |
| D, D+ |
These are approximate, because the difficulty level of the problems may be taken into account. e.g. if you do only 2 problems but somehow ended up doing the two hardest ones, you will definitely get more than D.
Solution to each problem may be submitted at any time during the term but may only be submitted once by e-mail to the instructor. Each submission will be graded within one week of submission. The last date that submissions will be accepted is April 30, 2022.
