Comments:
  • This course involves assignments and projects that will require a considerable amount of time, outside of the scheduled class times, to be spent on designing, debugging, testing, and running actual programs.
  • Assignments are due at 11:59pm on the specified day. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS will be accepted.
  • Lab exams will be given in the labs throughout the term. A grade of 0 will be given for missed quizzes without a valid reason (e.g. medical or family problems). The schedule of lab exams can be found on the course web page.
  • Please refer to the course web page on how submitted programs will be graded.
  • Check the course web page frequently for announcements, assignments, and other useful information.
  • Although discussing assignments with other class members is acceptable, and even encouraged, and often leads to new insights, copying of assignments is a very serious offence. See the University of Lethbridge Calendar Part 4. Submitted solutions must be your own work.
  • All students in this class must be in compliance with the University's COVID policies, including the mask and vaccine mandate. This means that all students attending an in-class session currently are required
    • to wear masks covering their nose and mouth for the duration of the class, as well as when gathering outside the classroom prior to entry and when leaving the classroom at the end of the session;
    • to be free of all symptoms listed on the University Health Check website;
    • to be double-vaccinated;
    • have reported their current vaccine/symptom status on the University's COVID app.
    There is a zero-tolerance policy in effect with regard to these policies, and any subsequent amendments or additions. Violations will be reported, are subject to penalties under the non-academic offences policy, and may result in a cancellation, or rescheduling, of individual classes or a change in the method of delivery.
  • In the event that the instructor cannot attend class in person due to the University's COVID policies, recorded lectures will be made available and online office hours will be held. Students will be notified by e-mail.
Adjustment for the strike:
  • Of the 10 assignments, only the highest 8 grades are used in the computation of your grades.
  • Of the 3 lab exams, only the highest 2 grades are used in the computation of your grades.
  • Project expectation has now been reduced from two problem sets to one problem set.
