Here are some links to products that work under Windows environment. I have used ssh and emacs and they work well. I have not used the others so can not comment on how good they are.
  1. SSH is an alternative to telnet for Windoze. This is a windows .exe file that will automatically install the product.
  2. gnu emacs for Windoze site.

  4. cygwin gnu C/C++ for Windoze site.
  5. Detailed instructions for downloading and installing emacs on a Windoze machine.
  6. Detailed instructions for downloading and installing Cygnus version of g++ on a Windoze machine.
