I used 3dsMax 2015 at the University of Lethbridge to create my model for CPSC 3710 (Computer Graphics).
Bolt Threads
The threads on the bolts were created in 3dsmax 2015 using the helix shape.
Creating the bolts
The bolts were the most challenging part of this project.
Trying to create functional products in a three dimensional space that can be used in the real world is a field I am interested in pursuing in the future.
Box Threads
Threads for the box were created by simply using the boolean subtraction method, after I had modeled the box and bolt.
3d Printing Hopes
This object will be printed on a 3d printer with a build volume of 6 inches, by 4 inches, by 11 inches.
Ideally the bolts will be functional and the printed product can be assembled.
