The threads on the bolts were created in 3dsmax 2015 using the helix shape.
The bolts were the most challenging part of this project. Trying to create functional products in a three dimensional space that can be used in the real world is a field I am interested in pursuing in the future.
Threads for the box were created by simply using the boolean subtraction method, after I had modeled the box and bolt.
This object will be printed on a 3d printer with a build volume of 6 inches, by 4 inches, by 11 inches. Ideally the bolts will be functional and the printed product can be assembled.
